Our personal injury practice includes the representation of people injured in car and truck accidents or because of an unsafe condition (premises liability), such as when a client is injured from slipping, tripping or falling. One of our areas of expertise is injuries that require filing a claim under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA). This law, passed by Congress, allows the United States to be sued for acts of its employees. It covers a number of things (property damage, personal injury, death, etc.), and excludes others (maritime acts, intentional wrongdoing, servicemen on active duty, discretionary acts by government employees). Such claims include things such as medical malpractice by a Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital, as well as general personal injury claims against the government. Our firm is also unique in its understanding of the interrelationship between family law and divorce, domestic violence and other criminal charges and its impact on military personnel. We are particularly sensitive to our clients who are in the military and the spouses of military personnel.
